Salus
Salus is a digital trade finance platform focused on connecting commodities to capital. The platform is designed to help suppliers and funders interact through secure, transparent, and digitally verifiable transactions. Salus describes its mission as bringing institutional-grade trust to commodity trade finance through on-chain precision and transparent infrastructure.
The project is especially relevant for the IOTA ecosystem because Salus connects trade finance, commodities, tokenization, and trusted digital infrastructure. IOTA has described Salus as an example of how trade finance can be reinvented through digital identity, smart contracts, tokenized trade documents, and a smoother user experience where participants can use the Salus dApp without needing to directly manage IOTA tokens.
Salus also fits naturally into the RWA narrative. Real-world assets such as commodities, warehouse receipts, bills of lading, trade invoices, and supply chain documents can become more useful when they are represented as verifiable digital assets. This can improve transparency, reduce friction, and open new financing channels for physical trade.
The connection to TWIN is important as well. TWIN focuses on trusted trade data infrastructure, while Salus applies this kind of infrastructure to real-world commodity finance. Together, these ideas show how blockchain can move beyond speculation and support practical global trade use cases.
